I’m a military brat born at McConnell Air Force Base in
Wichita. When I was 7, my father was
stationed in Morocco at a base named Ben Guerir, north of Marrakech. We often
visited Marrakech on weekends. I still have
vivid memories of brightly dyed wool yarn hanging to dry between buildings,
selecting bunches of red carnations for my mom, buying French bread and
Laughing Cow cheese for a snack on the way home. My mother, ever the life
instructor, knew that our 13 months in Africa would be life-altering. She used every trip to enhance our
understanding of life’s bigger picture--how the bridge we were crossing by car was
long ago built by the Romans who crossed by horse or ox. That goats could in fact climb trees. That
some people lived in houses, some in tents, some in huts. All were homes.
Many decades and two college degrees later, along with
stints as a tax accountant, financial analyst and business and law office
manager, I found real estate. I’ve been licensed since 2004 and am a Certified
Residential Specialist (CRS) and Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR). I work on the Hearts for Homes Team where I enjoy
navigating, negotiating and guiding complex transactions to a successful close.
My favorite past destination: Machu Picchu, Peru. My dream future
destination: Italy.
